If you're selling items in Shopify, you likely want to add a sale tag to your products. Although there are a few different ways to do this, we'll show you how to add tags for selling items using Shopify's built-in features.
Adding a Sale Tag in Shopify
First things first, let's tackle how to add a sale tag in Shopify. Once you're done adding products to Shopify, you can easily add a sale tag to your store to let everyone know that you're offering discounts. Here's how:
- Log into your Shopify account and, from the admin page, click on Products.
- Select the product you'd like to set a sale price on.
- From the product's page, scroll down to the pricing section.
- Here, you will see two pricing options—Price on the left and Compare at Price on the right. To set a sale price, take the original price from the Price text box and paste it into the Compare at Price box.
- Now, enter the sale price you wish to set for the product into the Price text box.
- Then, click the Save button.
To double-check that the sale tag has worked, click View at the top of the product page. Here you will see the original sale price with a strike-through line and the new sale price next to it highlighted in red.
