Is it better to mark items as sold out or out of stock?
Asked 2 years ago
Hi, does anyone know if it is better to mark an item as sold out or out of stock? Is there a tangible difference in sales performance? Basically I'd like to know if customers are more likely to follow up on stock availability in the future if a product is marked "sold out" or "out of stock". Thanks.

Out of Stock vs. Sold Out: While the two terms might seem interchangeable, they yield different impacts. Using the term "sold out" may boost sales in the short term, as it creates a sense of urgency and scarcity. However, in the long run, using the term "out of stock" may be more beneficial as it leaves the door open for future sales and preserves customer loyalty.
