How do I hide unavailable variants in Shopify?

Hi, I have some product variants that are out of stock while the others are still available, but murphy has it that customers want the out-of-stock ones. I can't use an out-of-stock badge because it's just the variant and not the entire product. Can I hide the variant or display out-of-stock only on that particular one?

To hide the sold-out variants is a bit trickier than hiding the whole product. You can use Shopify apps to hide the entire out-of-stock product and unhide when available. But to hide a variant, you need to do some coding. You can hire a Shopify developer to add the code to hide the variant of a product. If you're short on budget, the comparatively easy way is to remove the variant from the list. It will cause Error 404 when your customer directs to that item.
