Keep 500 collections in order – with one rule and three exceptions
Stores with 10,000+ products run 524 collections at the median on Bestsellers reSort. Set one store-wide rule, override the few collections that differ, and the app writes every collection's order on schedule – no dragging, no theme code.

One rule for the store, exceptions for the few
With hundreds of collections nobody sets rules one by one. Set the default once, then override only the collections that work differently.
Store default
Revenue over the last 90 days, sold-out to the bottom, restocked products treated as new. Every enabled collection inherits it.
Sale by discount
Override the Sale collection with Discount – High to Low. The deepest markdowns lead; the default still handles sold-out.
New In by date
Override New In with Publish Date – New to Old and switch new-on-top off there, since everything in it is new.
Enable in bulk
Select all collections in the table and enable them in one click; anything you leave off keeps Shopify's own order. The app sets enabled collections to Manually and writes the positions.
Runs one to four times a day at hours you choose. A store with 10,000 to 100,000 products sorts in about 10 minutes at the median; nine in ten such stores finish within the hour.
Collections in order, sold-out under control
Two apps, one job each: Bestsellers reSort orders the collections, StockIQ decides what counts as sold out, keeps it off the first screen and tells the buying team what moved.
Sort hundreds of collections from one setup
One store-wide rule with per-collection overrides, 1–365-day windows, featured products with end dates, tags for bestsellers, trending, new and aging stock, Bestsellers and ABC reports by email, CSV import and export of rules. Palladium has no product or collection limit.
See stock across 20,000 SKUs and act on it daily
Decide what counts as sold out for your catalog – every variant, a number or share of variants, or every size of an option. Get daily lists of what reached zero, what hit your low-stock threshold and what came back, by product or variant, with ABC grade and sell-through rate on each. Each collection is marked in stock, low or out by the share of products available; sold-out products move down or hide with a redirect, and back-in-stock alerts go out by market.
How stores with 10,000+ products set their rules
Store-level settings of a sample of 150+ stores with 10,000 or more products on Bestsellers reSort, compared with a sample of 1,800+ stores of every size; sort durations from 14 days of run history. Snapshot 10 September 2026.
Three setups large catalogs run
Each one is a rule in the store's own words, then the settings that carry it out.
Hundreds of collections
One global rule: 90-day revenue, sold-out down, restocks as new. Override only Sale (by discount) and New (by publish date). Result: hundreds of collections in order from one setup, three exceptions.
Stock that comes and goes
A product counts as sold out once three of its variants are gone, not the last one. It drops to the bottom that day and returns when stock does; the buying team gets one email each morning listing what reached zero and what is low, with ABC grade and sell-through rate. StockIQ: Advanced Out-of-Stock Rules, Push Down Out-of-Stock, daily low-stock and out-of-stock lists, applied to the collections you choose.
Slow movers surface
Tag products with stock but no sales in 90 days as Aging, build a smart collection from the tag, and sort it by inventory quantity so the deepest stock leads. Bestsellers reSort: Aging tag rule, smart collection from the tag, Inventory Qty – High to Low on that collection.

How to manage out-of-stock products on Shopify – rules, alerts and restock decisions
Decide when a product counts as sold out, let the collection page react, turn Notify me into a waitlist you control, send restock alerts when they are worth sending, and give the buyer the lists that decide the reorder.

How to hide out-of-stock products in Shopify
Hide out-of-stock products in Shopify without deleting them. Unpublish sold-out items after a delay and bring them back when you restock.

How to tell if your collection sorting is helping sales on Shopify
Compare the same collection pages over two equal periods on sessions, conversion and sales. What Shopify Analytics and GA4 show, what a sorting app can and cannot tell you.
Frequently Asked Questions
Catalog limits, per-collection rules, run times and storefront speed.
Does it handle 100,000+ products?
Yes. Stores with several hundred thousand products run on Bestsellers reSort, and the largest has over 1,000,000. Palladium has no product or collection limit.
Do I have to set rules for every collection?
No. Set one store default; every enabled collection inherits it. Override only the collections that differ – Sale, New In, clearance.
How long does a sort run take on a big store?
A store with 10,000 to 100,000 products sorts its collections in about 10 minutes at the median; nine in ten such stores finish within the hour. Stores with several hundred thousand products take longer and usually sort once a day at a quiet hour. Figures from 14 days of run history, September 2026.
Can I leave some collections on Shopify's own order?
Yes. Only enabled collections are managed; the rest keep the order set in Shopify. A collection you switch off goes back to its Shopify order.
Does it slow the storefront down?
No storefront code is added. Bestsellers reSort writes positions through Shopify's API on schedule and the theme renders the collection as usual.
One rule. Five hundred collections.
Enable the collections, set the default, override Sale and New In. The 7-day trial covers the whole catalog on Palladium.
