Tags are very handy in Shopify. They are labels that you use as a shop owner to organize your store intuitively. It may not be that helpful when you are still a small store and have a small range of products, but when you start adding to your store, tagging will become important to you.

What Kinds of Tags Are Available in Shopify?

There are six different types of tags in Shopify. Let's look at them in more detail:

  1. Product Tags These tags let you group your products into different collections.
  2. Transfer Tags These tags are for incoming inventory, for example, "reoccurring" or "urgent."
  3. Order Tags or Draft Orders These tags can be added as "fraudulent."
  4. Customer Tags You use these tags to describe your customer, for example, "complainer" or "VIP" for good customers.
  5. Blog Post Tags These tags can categorize your blog posts.
  6. Sales Tags These are sales tags in Shopify that can be used to put a product on sale.

How Can You Add Tags in Shopify?

To add your tags to your Shopify products, go to Products, then select a product. Look for the Tags section—you will find it in the organizational box on the right-hand side of the page. Add your tags, click Save, and you're done!

How Can You Get Rid of Tags in Shopify?

First, you need to open the specific product, transfer, order, customer, or blog post in Shopify. Simply click the "x" next to the tag that you want to delete. The tag is deleted from that specific product, transfer, customer, order, blog post, or order. Then click Save, and the tag will be gone.
