Facebook business page and manager account

How to Connect Your Instagram to Shopify
Step 1: Account Setup
Convert your Instagram profile to a business (professional) account if you haven’t already.
In the Instagram app, go to your profile settings and select “Switch to Professional Account.”
Choose "Business" and follow the prompts.
Tip: Make sure to fill out your business profile information like the website URL, contact email, etc. during the setup.
If you don’t have one already, create a Facebook Page for your business. On Facebook, click the plus (+) icon or dropdown and choose “Create Page”, then follow the steps to set up your business page with the name, logo and information.
Set Up Facebook Business Manager to manage your shop and catalog. You can set this up at business.facebook.com. In Business Manager, add your Facebook Page and your Instagram account to the business.
Link your Instagram business account to your Facebook Page through your Page settings. On Facebook, navigate to Page Settings > Instagram and click “Connect Account”. Log in to your Instagram within the prompt to officially associate the two.
After connecting, your Facebook Page should show your Instagram handle, and your Instagram profile will be linked to that Page. This connection is crucial for Shopify to later link the catalog and for Instagram to verify your shop.
In Meta Business Manager, verify the domain of your Shopify store.
To do this, go to Brand Safety > Domains in Business Manager, add your domain and follow one of the verification methods which include adding a DNS TXT record, uploading an HTML file, or adding a meta tag to your Shopify theme.

Step 2: Connect Instagram Shopping to Shopify
To add the Facebook & Instagram Sales Channel in Shopify you need to log into your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Apps and sales channels and click “Shopify App Store.”
Search for “Facebook & Instagram by Meta” (this is Shopify’s official integration app) and click "Install."
In the Facebook & Instagram channel on Shopify, you’ll have the option to set up Facebook Shop, Instagram Shopping, and Facebook Marketing.
Click Start setup under Instagram Shopping (you can also start with Facebook Shop because the process overlaps) and Shopify will prompt you to connect your Facebook account.
Click “Connect Account” and log in to the Facebook account that is an admin of your Business Manager and Facebook Page. After logging in, you’ll be returned to Shopify to continue the setup.
Shopify will detect your available Facebook Business assets. Choose the Business Manager that you set up. Then select your Facebook Page from the dropdown.
Remember to also confirm your Instagram account associated with that page. Here, your business Instagram handle should appear for selection.
During the setup, Shopify will either allow you to select an existing product catalog or create a new one for your shop. Choose “Create new catalog” (unless you already have a Facebook catalog for your products).
Shopify will then sync your Shopify products to this catalog. All products that are set to be available on the Facebook/Instagram channel in Shopify will populate the Facebook catalog.
Take Note: After connecting, your Instagram business account and the linked catalog will go through a review by Instagram. This is an automated review to ensure your account meets the commerce eligibility criteria.
If you also set up Facebook Shop in the process, your Facebook Page will now have a Shop section or the new Shops experience via Commerce Manager. You can manage the Shop in Commerce Manager.
Step 3: Enable Product Tagging and Instagram Shopping
After Shopify and Meta are connected and your Instagram Shop is approved, you can turn on Instagram’s shopping features and start tagging products.
By now, Shopify should have created a product catalog on Facebook containing your store products.
Once you receive approval, you need to activate the shopping feature on Instagram and link your catalog to your Instagram account.
To do this, open the Instagram app and go to your Profile. Tap the menu (☰) in the top right and go to Settings. Go to the Business settings, and look for the Shopping option.
If you don’t see “Shopping,” it means your account is still under review .
Tap Shopping and then Continue. You’ll be prompted to select a Product Catalog to connect to your Instagram account.
Choose the catalog that was created for your Shopify store. It may be named after your business or “Shopify Product Catalog”. Once done, the Shopping feature will be enabled on your Instagram account.
