Are ALT tags beneficial for image SEO on Shopify?

Hey guys. I have recently found out that I can add ALT descriptions to my HTML code to describe image appearance and function. Because I am new to this, I wanted to know how ALT tags will help to rank my website once I start using them. Does anyone have any insight into this?

You must be vigilant and write descriptive yet concise ALT text for all your images to achieve high image searches. A high image search will compel Google to add your shop's URL below the picture.
